Remembering Leeds1878-PresentThe University of Leeds was founded in 1904, but its origins go back to the nineteenth century with the founding of the Leeds School of Medicine and the Yorkshire College of Science.Since the first recorded legacy in 1878, many generous individuals – alumni, staff and friends – have remembered Leeds with a gift in their Will. This book recognises the support of these donors and the impact their gifts have had – and continue to have – across the University.More recently, we have also started including the names of those in whose memory donations have been made. From £10 to £1,000,000, each and every gift has played an important part in helping to secure the University's future. These names are also on display in Parkinson Court, in a specially designed, handwritten book. This book is a work in progress and is updated annually. If you know of a legacy or gift in memory that is not listed, we will be happy to add it.If you would like some information about supporting the University through a gift in your Will, or making a donation in memory of someone special to you, please get in touch with us at legacies@leeds.ac.uk or on 0113 343 2347.
